For this crispy bacon with grilled asparagus appetizer, you will need:
16 trimmed fresh asparagus
16 rashers of unsmoked streaky bacon
3 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp mayonnaise
1/2 tsp paprika
salt

Dip the asparagus into a large pan of salted boiling water for 90 seconds. Drain immediately and dip into cold water. Drain again and set aside. wrap one rasher of bacon around each asparagus, leaving the ends of the asparagus exposed. Brush with olive oil and grill under moderate heat until the bacon is crispy, turning frequently. Serve with mayonnaise with paprika sprinkled on top.
